All our fresh eggs are British Lion standard

Food safety and providing the best standard has always been a priority for us. We follow strict quality and health and safety procedures on all the sites where we operate which include the following:

  • Robust internal quality management procedures underpinned by ISO 9001 certification
  • On-going training in food safety standards for all catering employees with all our Defence chefs trained to an intermediate food safety rating
  • Daily review of comments books and responding appropriately
  • Photographic evidence of our hot plates in every dining room at every sitting
  • Internal quality sign off of packed meals before they leave our kitchens
  • Regular meetings with our clients on quality standards
  • The MOD employs local Food Catering Warrant Officers and military chefs within all of its catering contracts to manage and monitor the delivery of food services on sites
  • Inspections by Environmental Health which have resulted in four or five star ratings at all our sites
  • Audits by food and health & safety specialists resulting in a ‘green’ audit rating of 93.5% across all sites (audits are rated red/amber/green, with green being the highest)

Since January we’ve had some additional visits from environmental health, we believe as a direct result from social media activity. We welcome these and have passed every single time.
